FF11 Anyone else sad that this game is EOL and maintenance mode?

Final Fantasy XI (2002): An online MMORPG set in the world of Vana’diel where players create adventurers and form parties. It marked the series’ first shift to a persistent online world. AKA Final Fantasy 11, FF11, FFXI

I believe it was a little over a year ago that SE announced that FFXI would be EOL (end of life) and only receive maintenance updates. And it saddens me even though I don't play it anymore. I had so many good memories from that game.

Like the time I got my airship pass and having to hide and sneak my way through all of those mobs that would have wiped the floor with me in seconds. Or the time I was in crawlers nest on my PLD and we were fighting worms and I accidentally provoked a lizard and it wiped the whole group LOL. :D

And my best memories are of my dual beastmaster setup that I use to run. One beast was set up as 75bst/37whm and the other was 75bst/37thf and I would stay in the Boyhada tree killing goobys all day long. And I bet I made 100's of millions out of that place with all of the years that I played there. How about you? Anyone else sad that this game is EOL and maintenance mode?

It's kind of sad that the game goes into EOL. And then you don't get to see any updates or the patches from the future. But the thing is that most of the FF series games are being ported as is on the mobile. So that's another good thing. I'd say though not all games in the series may get ported. But you get the idea that it can bring some level of titles that can keep most of the busy. I'd say in that case it's worth playing those games.

Well I have great news for you FFXI is coming to mobile and I know that I don't care what it costs I want it LOL. So far all of the MMORPGs for mobile have been pure crap. And if SE plays their cards right FFXI could corner the MMORPG mobile market.

It is just a sad phrase in general and hearing it out loud is a bummer. Of course it is made worse when it applies to a game that you have come to enjoy quite a bit, but these things happen.

Yes, hay I get really bored while waiting for maintenance to be finished. Who gets bored too when there is a game maintenance? The only thing that I do when final fantasy is on maintenance mode is that I watch finalfantasy gameplay videos on youtube. It is really funny.

That is a good point and at least we do have Youtube at our disposal if we are in real need of something related to the game. I guess we should at least be thankful for those types of things....but still.

That's a good news. I know lot of MMORPG games are not much doing good. But let's just say some of the time new games are always better addition. I am surely going to check out once it releases.

Hi everyone? I am not happy about the fact that the game has moved into maintenance mode for the future, with new clients and spinoffs titles planned for further development. Developing on the obsolete console is no longer possible, and the game just doesn't have the budget to justify a wholesale switch.

Rest assured that game will come back in sequel or remakes or even chances are there that it may get ported officially. Usually older games tend to get the remake if they have good plot. And something if it has good remake worthy then they do release it.
