Huh? He actually used it on Barnaby on that very day it seems. Unless he kept Barnaby for years until his powers awoken.

Well, we can't really say that the events after the incident is arnaby's "real" memory. He might have gone into an orphanage. And when Maverick's power woken up, he thought of using barnaby by altering most of his childhood memories.

Maverick wanted to turn Barnaby into a great hero. The whole "Ever since I saw your powers..." speech. So he killed Barnaby's parents, fucked up his memories, and thus Barnaby was born.

Hmmm... True... I guess he can never convince Barnaby to be a hero if he didn't have the proper motivation, thus needing his parents to die.

Looking at it though, it seems everything just went well for Maverick on that day since killing the parents is the only way to make Barnaby a top hero and he had the motive since they were about to reveal his connections with Ouroboros.

Same as you, I'm thinking Barnaby will indeed confront Kaede to reveal Kotetsu's real job.

Bunny heard his dream after all, to make her daughter proud of her. So as his partner is his job to help Kotetsu's dream came true

But currently the scene I imagine when Barnaby went to Kaburagi house to meet Kaede:
