Why you're so surprised with Jake not the real killer? It's not that surprising. The first image Bunny had in his vision was different from Jake and it continues to changed, plus Jake didn't have the tattoo. Me and most people thought of that.
My money still on Maverick has connection with this. He probably the member of Ouroboros because Kriem said that she and Jake only the small fragment of the whole oganization and it's not weird to have more higher rank member on Sternbild government. Though Maverick was not the killer of Bunny's parent but maybe his job that day was taking Bunny out so the real killer can finish his/her job. Maverick then use his position to alter Bunny's memories, probably with the dream/sleeping machine. Hell, he could make Bunny's vision of the killer closer to Jake then he ordered Kriem to make a move to free Jake after all these years and use them both as pawn so Bunny can get his (false) revenge. Maverick also the one who made Bunny reveal his past public, maybe it was to make Bunny more motivated to get his revenge. But in this theory of mine, I can't explain what benefit Maverick/Ouroboros get by doing all of those. Gain Bunny's trust? If yes, for what? 7 episodes to find out
Crazier theory is, Bunny actually a cyborg, the masterpiece of his parent. Ouroboros want to make Bunny join their rank, unconsciously, doing things he thought a hero job ordered by Maverick, an important person of him, but actually it was for Ouroboros
I'm also interested with the interview where the co-creator said that they're thinking about making the spin-off of other heroes on the 10 months time skip, or about their past. I'd like to see Origami Cyclone's growth, he seems more confident now when talking and making fun of Karina tsundere-ness this episode:anime:

Then again, even when their setting is on 70s, the technologies on T&B are already advance. On W, they can make up Kaido, a dead which still can grow up using some sort of serum, so why not having a growing up cyborg. On anime and tokusatsu impossible is nothing:sweat:
But what dchoc said is more logical with Bunny being a cyborg with fake memory. If Bunny turn out really is android/cyborg with fake memory, then Koutetsu might pull the "even if your past were fake, but the time we spent together being a partner and hero is a true memory" cliche speech XD
It's only theory after all. Let's hope what story writer have is more mind-blowing
