Perhaps this should go in the videos section, but it's a film and not some random YouTube clip so I thought I'd stick it here for discussion.
After a long wait, An Act of Revenge, the new film by Infinite Quest Productions, sibling group to Zero Gravity Stunts, which I'm sure some of you have heard of, has been released for free download on the internet! Surprising, since I thought that it was going straight to DVD, but oh well, I like free.
"One year ago Sam's brother, Alan, was murdered while attempting to leave behind a lifestyle he was no longer proud of. On the anniversary of his brother's death, Sam vows to settle the score with those responsible for Alan's untimely departure. With action direction from Zero Gravity's Ken Quitugua and Sam Looc, An Act of Revenge is a short action thriller that gets right to the point; raw and explicit vengeance."

I'm really lazy so I'll just import my short review post from another forum:
Just watched it... wow! I really liked it. There was a pervasive feeling of cliche about the whole thing, the "retiring from life of crime" thing has been done to death, as has the revenge thing, as has the "exotic Asian morality martial arts crime drama," but seeing as how the whole thing was basically two big fights, that can easily be overlooked. The acting was mostly very good, and the Cantonese was spoken and worked well in the context. The whole thing was very professional. Cinematography was a bit bland at times and there were a few too many fades, but there were also some very well-planned and smooth shots.
As for the fights, I really really dug them. The choreography was awesome, I've always loved Ken's style, and everybody's execution was spot-on, no complaints at all. It was great to see some "harder" moves like the knees and leg kicks incorporated into the choreo without it becoming a silly Ong Bak knockoff like other shorts that try to utilize the same stuff. Some of those exchanges were hella intricate--I love the back and forth, Ken's really good at putting it together. Got a little flashy with the amount of spin kicks packed into the end, but at least there was no acrobatics... that tends to ruin a more realistic fight in a dramatic/thriller short like this and just makes it hokey. Sam reeks of intensity and him and Ken have great chemistry, which is cool because we've never seen a proper fight between the two. I had a lot of fun watching them and most of the hits actually felt pretty powerful which is big factor. They were paced really well too; sometimes it gets tiresome to see fights that are way too fast for their own good (a couple scenes from Contour come to mind), but those in AaOR were fast yet coherent, shot and edited extremely well. It's just too bad Roy didn't get in on the action. My only gripes are that the music was pretty weak during the last fight, it was suspenseful sounding but not particularly exciting or fitting. And really, I can't stand seeing the "stupid villain" thing done where they have a billion and a half opportunities to kill the **** out of somebody but they opt to talk instead. Other than those small observations, I thought it was awesome. Really really cool. Two big thumbs up. Well done. An Act of Appreciation. Worth the wait.
