I'm curious about "Kill Jackie," especially since it's based on Nick Harkaway's work. I loved his unique blend of humor and tension in "The Gone-Away World," so I'm hoping this will capture some of that. But, I'm also a bit skeptical about how they'll handle the revenge thriller angle. It feels like that genre can easily tip into cliché territory if not executed well. I'm hoping they lean into character development and make us really care about Jackie, rather than just relying on adrenaline-pumping action. Let's see if they can pull it off!

finally something with Catherine Zeta Jones as the lead again, she disappeared from action roles for too long and I missed it. the premise sounds like a mix of old school spy thriller and personal revenge story which is a combo I always enjoy. hoping the writing does not waste her talent on shallow action scenes only, she can act circles around most people if given the material

I remember her in entrapment and this feels like a grown up darker version of that energy. really hoping the fight choreography matches her presence because these roles live or die based on how convincing the action feels on screen

it is nice seeing an older woman lead an action thriller without turning it into a joke or side character role, hollywood needs more of this honestly. most action leads are always young actors and it gets repetitive after a while. giving someone with real experience and screen presence the main role changes the energy of the whole story. catherine has range for comedy and drama so mixing that into an action role could make the character feel

The part I am most interested in is the mystery behind Jackie's enemies. If someone simply wants revenge for something she did twenty years ago, that is fine, but I hope there is more to it. The description makes it sound like the Seven Demons are connected to different parts of her history, which could give the season a good structure. I also like that Jackie has already lived a completely different life for twenty years. She is not starting the story as an active criminal. She has built something else for herself, and now she has to decide what part of her old identity is still there. Catherine Zeta-Jones is a good choice for that because she can make the character look polished while still suggesting that there is something dangerous underneath.

I like revenge stories, but I usually need more than just people getting killed one after another. The mystery connected to Jackie's past is what makes me interested here. If every member of the Seven Demons reveals another piece of who Jackie used to be, the story could build nicely across eight episodes. I also think the contrast between her wealthy art dealer life and her old criminal life could work really well visually. One minute she can be at some fancy gallery and the next she is dealing with an assassin. Catherine Zeta-Jones has already played characters who can carry that kind of elegance and attitude, so I can see why they cast her. The October release is going on my watch list.
