Am I the only one just bored with it all?

Decade is a joke.
Shinkenger isn't bad, but it's done nothing for so long.
Rescue Fire is just more of the same tripe from Takara.
RPM was sort of interesting, but I fell out of it after ep. 7 and never went back.
And while I liked Dragon Knight, I suddenly have no desire to go back to it now that new episodes are airing again.

This year's toku is just so pedantic, I can't bring myself to sit down and watch these shows week after week after week. Decade and Shinken eps just pile up on my computer. I plan to catch up, but then lose all interest again.

Am I a man in the wilderness here? Am I the only one fed up with all the mediocrity and sycophants who keep propping it up, and ready to go to the Atlantis of Atlas Shrugged? Am I the only one around here who is not satisfied by what Toei dishes out as Sentai and Rider now and not willing to swallow everything I'm presented?

"Maybe you're just growing out of toku, Fang" That can't be. I just spend the last three weeks finishing Dairanger, Kakuranger, and Ultraman Moebius. I flew through each show in just one week! Now I'm going through Ohranger. So the issue can't be me "leaving" toku. It has to be toku, at least modern toku or more specifically modern Toei, "leaving" me and whoever else feels the same way. There is only so much madness a man can take.

That sounds like a personal problem to me. I know you're adamant in not finishing a tokusatsu series, especially a Kamen Rider series, but as they say, "There's a first time for everything". I suggest taking a small sabbatical from the current tokusatsu that's out there. I'm not saying to drop it completely; just don't watch it for a while.

I haven't been watching for a while, as I said. That's the thing. There is no motivation to watch shows that, compared to their predecessors, are so underwhelming yet are the talk of the town somehow.

Why would I watch Japanese soap operas when I don't even like American ones? At some point they're all just the same thing.

Besides, I'm already sitting through a bunch of Sri Lankan dramas (or to go with the vernacular, "SL-Dramas") with my mom. (At least with those I can pick up on my native language somewhat.) I don't need any more Asian soaps on my To Do list

J-dramas arent soaps, think of it as just TV shows. Wider Genre.

By soaps I don't mean stuff like on NBC Daytime. Just stuff like what you see on Primetime. I use the term loosely.

Frankly my interest in Japanese media extends only to toku in general.
