ALL Friday The 13th - Talkback

The hills has eyes remake took all of the creepiness out of the original, and replaced it with nothing but gore. The Friday the 13 remake does have gore, but the story and Jason kick ass.

Jason Takes Manhattan was a complete train wreck from what I heard.

The only parts I found "cute" in that movie was Lucrezia Noin and Lady Deathstrike getting killed in the movie.

Other than that...out of all the Friday the 13th movies...I felt this one was the most toned down of the group.

PS: I get this bad feeling that Jason will be the star of the Scary Movie 5.

The Old vs. the New (Leatherface, Michael, and Jason) with the old versions and new versions staring at each other with Freddy and Pinhead on the sidelines stating..."We're staying out of this."

Well, just yesterday alone, this new Jason took in 19 million dollars. Looks like it's SEQUEL TIME!!! All you need to go and see this freakin movie. Amazing.

Thats a very average/sub par opening, if thats enough for them to do a sequel then it really shows how much they wanna milk this teet again.

A one day opening, during the winter months, of 19mil, and you say it's average? If you say this is average then please show me the list of movies released this time of year, in the month of February, that have done better for a SINGLE day?

Off the top of my head? Norbit, 300, and Cloverfield come to mind. Like I said $19 mil is average for the early parts of the year, most films rank between 16 mil and 19 mil between January and March. And for a "hyped" film thats been marketed pretty good its sub par.

300 opened in march with a 3 day weekend total of approx 70mil http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend&id=300.htm

Here are the top 30 February 3 day weekend openings http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/weekends/month/?mo=02&p=.htm

Friday The 13th had a SINGLE Friday take of approx 19 mil. Since passion of the christ has a more than 3 day total, Hannibals single Friday opening was $19,297,000 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=daily&id=hannibal.htm

Hannibal is the 2nd best opening weekend for a February. Since Friday the 13th made about the same for it's first day, I would venture a guess that Friday the 13th did better than average for a SINGLE days box office take.

It's very good for a horror film. Also, you have to look at the box office take vs. how much it cost the studio to make the film. Rob Zombie's HalloweeN made 30 million over its opening weekend and was considered successful enough to warrant a sequel. Films like this usually do not cost that much to make. Also, as has been mentioned, 19 mil is friday ONLY.
