Oh how i MISS YOU! God ever since I been watching Zros wars I decided to go back to my roots of Digimon........by watching Digimon the movie!

Tai...izzy.....sora....joe....matt.....mimi....tk......kari......davis.....cody....yolie....ken...

WHY ISN'T TV THE SAME?!?!?!:shakefist:shakefist:shakefist

God I need to finish up Savers. Managed to finish Frontier during Spring Break, and again, Loved it.
Wish DVD's could come out for it, Dubbed or subbed,

I loved the first 3 seasons. I hated season 4, it was friggin Power Rangers. Season 5 was awesome and Season 6 seems to be solid so far

I swear, when that came out, am I the only one that did not think Power rangers/Sentai?
Like...that's srsly such a stupid reason for not liking the show, and a bad excuse really. And this is towards everyone.

Honestly, I saw it as "Kamen Rider meets Airbender meets Digimon" eyegasm right there! Then I started to not like it so much because it wasn't really follow the roots of digimon. Thinking back, the only thing that really bugs me is how they turn to eggs when they die. I prefer the old way where the scattered into bits and then reform an egg after that. I needa start watching Savers. D:

For me it was because the whole idea that Digimon were partners and friends was gone. They changed the show until it became only Digimon in name. There are certain things you have to keep when doing a show and some things you can afford to change, and turning the Digimon into Power Rangers is not one of them.

I like to compare it to the awful Beast Machines, the worst show to happen Transformers, why? Because they changed what made the show appealing. Robots living from a robotic planet. They changed Cybertron into (basically) Earth

Well nothing touches the first 3 seasons. And I mean nothing.

Season 4 was........different, but I watched it and I enjoyed it. I think it was cause it was just different then what I was used to from Digimon. So I mean I liked it. Then again, I was a bit younger.

Saw part of the first ep of Savers/Data Squad on Toon Disney, but didn't watch it since. So I have to watch it.

Xros wars is coool.:castlerock:

Taichi, Koushirou, Sora, Jou, Yamato, Mimi, Takeru, Daisuke, Iori, Miyako, Ken....

WHY ISN'T TV THE (oh wait, all those seasons are subbed on YT. :P)
Well nothing touches the first 3 seasons. And I mean nothing.
Nothing touches Adventure and Tamers...

But no, no, no way will I ever admit that 02 was a good series. Especially now that I have re-watched it.

Seriously, how many people who say that Adventure1 and 02 are on the same level have actually re-watched the series recently? Really honestly? How many? This is the same kinds of arguments that make fans say stuff like "Anime was better in the 80's" but that's not important. Once each series was subtitled, I re-watched every single one for two reasons. Nostalgia and I wanted to see how it held up. Adventure, Tamers and Frontier did hold up (though Frontier did go to crap in that Royal Knights arc) but 02? No.

02 has problems. Lots of problems. Problems that become apparent after a re-watching. What was the layout for season 1? Devimon-Etemon-Vamedemon-Dark Masters. See easy?

What was the layout of season 2? Digimon Kaiser-....shitload of plotlines. No really, after Ken was defeated we had
1) The Dark Ocean
2) BlackWarGreymon
3) The Holy Stones
4) Archenimon/Mummyon
5) Dark Demon Corps
6) Oikawa and those spores

And honestly, only two of those got real conclusions, those being Oikawa and the Spores and Archenimon/Mummymon. The Dark Ocean was never touched upon again, the Holy Stones served one purpose only and that was to be destroyed (even though they hadn't even been introduced properly), the Dark Demon Corps was taken care of in three episodes and man, if I got into all the problems with BWG, we'd be here all night.

I will say this though, I had no idea he was voiced by the awesome Nobuyuki Hiyama. That made him a bit bearable.

Even as a child when I watched Digimon 02 on Fox Kids, I knew there was something about the season I didn't like. Now that I'm older, I realize there was way too many plotlines and they were completely improperly handled. Not only that, compared to Adventure1, the new kids don't develop. At least not to the extent that the original Chosen Children do. Daisuke is still loud-mouthed, Miyako is still a tool for the writers and Iori is still boring (though to be fair, Iori was trying to be a character). Takeru and Hikari really could have made this season better but they barely stood out next to the awesomeness of Daisuke and "DIGIMENTAL UP!"

Did I mention I hate Daisuke a lot? His dub voice was not helping this.

I think that if certain plot threads had went somewhere and not just been abandoned for new ones, we could have had a worthy sequel. We could have had a good bit of character development. Instead, we got a lot of filler at the beginning because of the Digi-Gates (I hated the removal of Digital World survival and that they could just jump back and forth). We also got the removal of the new identity of the show Armor Evolution after Ken was gone. Really, why? Armor Evolution was really cool and unique and what happens? Jogress becomes the new thing. Look, I know that promoting the new evolution is part of the show, but three different types of evolution? That's just asking for the removal of some plot threads.

I really encourage people to really re-watch every season to really have their thoughts unblocked by a nostalgia filter. I came to appreciate Tamers a lot more having seen it again and realizing that no toyetic anime will probably ever come close to what it did for the genre. Adventure 02 though? No. It's bad. It's got some things I liked but so did Gundam SEED Destiny. It's honestly a trainwreck of plot threads and character leading to a very disappointing ending.

But, I did like this song.

That's just another reason I liked seeing armor evolution each episode.

(Man, I should talk about Frontier next!)
