i agree; i do think that they do glorify inappropiate behvaior...sometimes sales skyrocket but only if the 'artist' gets or has a rap sheet, something ridiculous to make everything seem a little cooler...anyone remember the East Coast / West Coast rap wars of the early 90s? a gangster persona focused on material objects and more mature subject matters in the lyrics...even as to the extent that a/an artist(s) actually lost their life in this mess. maybe this genre is popular with kids today - i don't get why. i'm not a fan of the genre and again, its the product being sold, not the art.
