I was a first grader, but I vividly remember our whole school being rushed out and kids being sent home, only to come home and see television screens filled with videos of the Twin Towers being obliterated by two planes. It was a scary moment indeed. I thought that the world was ending, and for a while afterwards, it was ending. There were people searching for loved ones, as well as courageous emergency workers rushing towards a scene damaged beyond all imagination.
To think the tranquility of America has been forever annihilated by that one moment.
That is absolutely horrible. Not coming from there , all I can recall is in third grade, me and all of these little kids younger than me were gathered by our nutty old hag for a principal ,who happened to scare us shitless about Y2K, into the small library of my very small Catholic school .
They didn't say anything about the event and we were just wondering. I didn't know what the hell it was about and frankly , I thought it was a trailer for a film or TV show. This is when the horrible event started. Our principal got us all scared for our lives by flipping out and putting the school into lockdown ,since it's near the Detroit airport, and I'm wondering if we're going to die.
My mom picked me and my sisters up and we went home. While scared, I still did not understand what even happened until I tried to turn on some kids shows , but it was on every channel. I just wondered how it could possibly happen? All of the suffering...all of the agony...I wished at the time I could have been able to join the military so I could avenge them. But as I observed over a few years, I realized how much of defeatists our leaders have become. They should have rebuilt the towers as soon as they cleared the wreckage and found any remains so as to stand in testament in the victims' memory against them.
The worse thing about 9/11 is that the signs were there but they were all ignored by the CIA, FBI and both administrations. It was about our leaders' fault as Al-Queda's as it was preventable and it pisses me off to no end how incompetent they have become. Reminds me of Pearl Harbor, but this was even more so twisted just knowing it could have been prevented. I just do not get how they did not get any background checks on any of those perpetrators.
This was a horrible day , a day where we not only lost our peace and sanity, but our freedoms.
I was either in preschool or kindergarten when this happened and, the only thing I remembered was, I was sent home early and, my whole family was terrified by this event
Exactly how mine was.
