Please do not hot link images, especially from other blog sites. One main reason is that it doesn't come up.

They actually still do have to look out tiny gaps on most masks. They have different helmets, the "hero" versions for close-ups and stills, and versions with wider gaps for more action-oriented scenes. The motorcycle stunts usually require yet another version. I'm sure there's going to be a type of Wizard mask which has gaps right alongside the silver accents on his face or holes drilled into the red surface, which we won't see because it won't be used in close-up scenes where he's looking directly into the camera (hopefully.)

You know I suddenly remember that documentary on filming the Decade and DenO movie where they showed how much you can actually see outside Decade's helmet.
It takes a master to be able act normally, when you borderline blindfolded.

Very fascinating. Too bad Toei doesn't do documentaries on stuntworks in toku, probably because they wanted to preserve an element of believability for the audience, and such documentary would've shattered the illusion that they worked hard to build around this genre.

One thing I love about the Flame Style ring, especially in that Ganbaride image, is that it looks like Wizard is wearing a huge pair of dorky glasses :anime:

There was a Decade net movie that showed where the hidden holes in the Decade helmet were for the actor to see through. They're basically tiny pinpricks about the width of nostrils apart (rather than the width of eyes). So you'd either have to go crosseyed or just see a tiny bit of light in the corner of your eyes. Always makes me respect the suit actors so much more when you watch something like Den-O where they're scrambling over the DenLiner tables and each other and you realise they're doing it all by memory.
I know it would be great to see. The nearest I can think of is that Akibaranger had former suit actor Kazuo Niibori telling one of the characters how you can barely see once the helmet is on. Plus the fake DekaRed from episode two has a stageshow helmet that has lots of holes drilled through the visor.
They do but nothing like the pretty large tearmarks from the original kamen rider helmet. I also once saw a photo of Kiva where the compound eyes in the helmet must have actually just been transparent coloured plastic, because you could see the outline of the actor's face through it. There's also a few times watching Double where it seems that if you can see him riding his bike from the front he's driving more or less straight, then when it cuts to a view from behind he starts manouvering. My guess was they probably had a version with the eyes removed so he could actually see. The rest just gets filled in with CGI.
