E3 2016: Warner Bros Exploring More DC Comics Games
The Arkham series was a revelation for many when it arrived. Showing that comic book video games could not only work, but thrive, and even be a mythology of its own. Since the conclusion of those Batman games, many are wondering if Warner Bros will do more focusing on other DC Comics characters. They spoke about this at E3:
“DC is an enormous priority for our entire company, and we’re thrilled that games can really support franchise building at almost the same level as movies and television can,” WB Games President David Haddad said in an interview with IGN.
Aside from just comics, the upcoming DCEU movies have also gotten attention and many wondered if games will be based on them:
“We get asked that question, ‘Are you making movie games?’ And that is so far from the way that we approach the business and the industry,” Haddad said. “Fundamentally, these things have to work as great games and great game franchises.”
So officially, they aren’t revealing anything. But, it’s very likely given the success of Arkham, and even Injustice which has been revealed to be getting a sequel, that more could be on the way.
