Divinity: Original Sin Board Game Fully Kickstarted In Four Hours
Larian Studios and Lynnvander Studios are interested in translating the hit video game Divinity: Orignal Sin 2 to a tabletop experience. But was there demand for such a thing?
Most definitely. They threw the crowdfunding campaign onto Kickstarter two days ago, and within four hours it had reached its goal. As of this writing, it’s raked in over three times that amount, and it has 28 days left.
In the box you get one Game Board, four Player Boards, 16 Dice, 270 Tokens, 851 Playing Cards, character and NPC Miniatures. The game rules run on a mechanic called the Chronical System, which means player choices will not just impact the current adventure you’re playing, but future games of Divinity as well.
“Creating an analogue adventure game that you could enjoy at home with your friends and family has been something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time,” says Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios. “We’ve been on the lookout for a partner who could successfully capture the Divinity: Original Sin experience in a board game format. After many, many prototypes, we’re delighted to say Lynnvander have really come up with something that hit the core of what we tried to do with Divinity.”
There are no cheap pledge options in the Divinity: Original Sin Board Game….the entry pledge is a heavy $120, but you will be assured that all met stretch goals will be included in the box when it ships…and if the campaign’s initial performance is any indication, there should be a LOT of met goals by the time it wraps up.
