Crisis On Infinite Earths: The First Trailer
If you’ve been watching The CW at any point over the last month, then you definitely know a Crisis is coming. First teased nearly a year ago at the end of the previous crossover (Elseworlds), Crisis On Infinite Earths promises to be the largest DC superhero teamup ever witnessed on TV.
Its inspiration, the 1985 comic book miniseries of the same name, was written to consolidate decades of unwieldy and confusing continuity that DC had built up. Here, the main purpose is ratings (and, also, to get Supergirl in the same dimension as The Flash. And also probably to kill Ollie).
Here are all the kooky new characters: the Monitor, who already appeared in Elseworlds, watches over the universe and tells the heroes cryptic things. They aren’t sure if they can trust him, but he’ll be a whole lot more trustworthy than the Anti-Monitor, who seeks to devour all other worlds to increase his own power. Helping in the fight against the Anti-Monitor are Harbinger, who appears on doomed planets to warn the citizenry and give them half a chance, and Pariah, a criminal who has been condemned to witness the planets’ destruction as part of his sentence.
And you know the rest…Green Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, the Legends, Black Lightning, Batwoman, and Superman and Lois, who have recently reproduced (aww, isn’t he cute? Would the Anti-Monitor kill a baby? You bet).
Below this trailer are the official synopses for the first three episodes of Crisis On Infinite Earths, which begin airing December 8 followed by an aftershow hosted by Kevin Smith. They’re not THAT spoilery, but we’ve separated them with this embed just in case.
