Coming To Steam: They Always Run
Russian publisher Alawar has announced their 2D action game They Always Run is now in development for release later this year on PC. The game is being developed by the company’s internal division, who in the past has been behind projects like Distrust and I am not a Monster. Alawar will serve as publisher.
It’s the future, and the galaxy is under the thumb of a gigantic empire — no, wait. It’s the FURTHER future and that empire has fallen. As a result, lawlessness has descended upon all the most populated planets and crime is now rampant. Into this situation steps Aidan, the three-armed mutant man whom you’ll be controlling.
Aidan is a bounty hunter, and the best there is. Citizens come to him from all over to pay for his services and track down those who need punishment. As Aidan you’ll be hunting down targets, searching for clues and battling enemies wherever they turn up. Along the way you’ll uncover a larger storyline that concerns the fate of the galaxy.
They Always Run is still deep in development and doesn’t have a release date; however Alawar hopes to have the game out on Steam before the end of 2021. Whenever it appears, it’ll look like this…
The game takes place in an alternate future in which the Empire has fallen and all inhabited worlds have descended into crime. In such times, there’s a high demand for people who can find anyone, anywhere – from the central worlds to the outskirts of civilization. Players will take on the role of Aidan, a three-armed mutant who hunts the most notorious bounties in the galaxy. Some bounties are rewarded with money, others with valuable information that Aidan can use to find his real targets: the people behind a galaxy-wide conspiracy.
