Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles Revealed
Activision released a new trailer and details this week for Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles. This will be a new repackaged Zombies collection for the Call of Duty series. This version will feature eight remastered Zombies maps from the Call of Duty series. This includes remastered maps for World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops II, and they will all be available for PlayStation 4 first on May 16 through the PlayStation Network.
All the maps for this release have been completely remastered with new graphics and visuals. Speaking on the news in an official press release Activision GM of Call of Duty Rob Kostich stated: “Call of Duty’s Zombies has earned a special place in our hearts through its deep, layered gameplay, imaginative storylines and its compelling waves of action, which spans multiple titles. We’re excited to share with fans these incredible moments in one comprehensive offering, available together on current generation hardware.”
The new collection will feature all the remastered maps in HD with current-generation visuals, enhanced lighting, revamped character models, updated environments, updated AI, and enhanced audio systems. Players will also be able to use custom weapons, including current weaponry from Black Ops III that they couldn’t use in the original maps. Here’s a full breakdown of the maps for Zombies Chronicles:
• From Call of Duty: World at War: Nacht der Untoten (Abandoned Bunker), Verruckt (Wittenau Sanitorium) and Shi No Numa (Jungle Swamp)
• From Call of Duty: Black Ops: Kino Der Toten (Theater of the Dead), Ascension (Soviet Cosmodrome), Shangri-la (Exotic Jungle Shrine) and Moon (Lunar Base)
• From Call of Duty: Black Ops II: Origins (WWI France)
To coincide with the launch, Activision and Treyarch are holding 8 Days of the Undead. Here, players will be able to earn double XP rewards, take part in community challenges, and receive free exclusive content, including a Zombies calling card, weapon camo, new Gobble Gums and a PS4 theme.
The collection launches on PlayStation 4 first on May 16. It will likely be offered on other platforms at a later date. The Zombies Chronicles collection will be priced at $29.99, and it will be a digital-only release.
