Blade Runner 2049 Teaser Trailer Released
So the Blade Runner sequel is finally happening. Ridley Scott is only producing the upcoming film, but Harrison Ford is returning to star. Today, Warner Bros. released the first teaser trailer for the movie, which offered the first look at footage from the film. You can check out the Blade Runner 2049 announcement video below.
The new teaser features Ryan Gosling as the new Blade Runner, an LAPD officer named K. In the new sequel, he unearths a long-buried secret that could put what remains of society into chaos. K now goes on a journey to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), the former LAPD Blade Runner who has been missing-in-action for the last 30 years.
Despite bombing in theaters, Blade Runner has become a beloved and influential sci-fi classic. While there have been sequels in novel and video game form, this marks the first official live-action continuation of the classic film. The trailer also shows Harrison Ford as Deckard coming face-to-face with K.
The new director is Denis Villeneuve, who has been getting a lot of acclaim lately for his films Sicario and Arrival. It will be interesting if this film will be all its crack up to be or an undesired retread of the current nostalgia era. Blade Runner 2049 arrives in theaters on October 6, 2017. The film stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, with Dave Bautista and Jared Leto
