Armed with Controllers plays: Fist of Awesome
Fancy seeing Armed with Controllers’ Stapesy inflict grievous bodily harm on homicidal wildlife in Time’s ‘Most Surprisingly Awesome’ game of E3? So do we.
Earlier this week, the AwC team had the privilege of meeting Nicoll Hunt, creator of Kickstarter-funded indie title Fist of Awesome. In an exclusive hands-on hosted here in London, Stapesy slipped on the plaid shirt of Tim Burr, a forest-dwelling tree feller who is caught up in a complex interstellar plot to enslave Earth by populating history with murderous mammals. Without question, the story is beyond nuts, but in terms of appeal FoA is addictive, intuitive and thoroughly entertaining. Think of it as a modern take on 16-bit classics like Streets of Rage and Double Dragon – just with more time travel and lumberjacks.
The appropriately named Fist of Awesome releases on PC, MAC, tablets, smartphones and the Android-powered OUYA later this year. To watch the AwC interview, click here, and be sure to check out the game’s official website for more information.
