With Avengers: Infinity War now technically behind us, all eyes are on the next official Marvel Cinematic Universe film. In this case, Ant-Man And The Wasp. This is a big film for the MCU not because of story per se or its “timeline” relevancy (which is still up in the air), but rather, it’s the first MCU film to feature a female character in the title. And as this brand new trailer shows, Wasp definitely earns that honor.
This new trailer focuses on the story of the film itself and reveals some new details we didn’t know before. Apparently, after the events of the first Ant-Man film, Hank Pym went into the Quantum Realm to try and find his wife Janet Van Dyne, but something bad happened, and the villain known as Ghost followed him out, stole some of his tech, and is now wreaking havoc in the real world. Now, the only way to stop her (yes, her) is for Ant-Man And The Wasp to team up.
There’s a lot to like about what’s shown here, including Hope Van Dyne showing more of what she has in store for bad guys (“she seems…more intense”), as well as numerous returning characters. As well as new ones like Lawerence Fishburne as Goliath…kind of.
Ant-Man And The Wasp arrives in theaters July 6th.
