Dynamic Soundtrack Releases Batman Beyond Volume 4 for Batman Day

The legend of the Batman is eternal, but the man himself is mortal. So, what happens when he can no longer wear the cape? Also, who would be the new Batman? More than two decades ago, Batman Beyond gave us those answers. And now, we can listen to the soundtrack whenever we want.

That’s because Dynamic Soundtrack Records has been releasing the soundtrack since 2023 in chunks of about 90 tracks each. Moreover, they’re releasing them as remastered replacements for the original 1999 album from Rhino.

Their latest release came this weekend when they dropped Batman Beyond Volume 4 on September 18. 2026. And that’s especially relevant since it’s Batman Day (September 19) as I write this.

What’s Included in the Batman Beyond Volume 4 Soundtrack Album?

Batman Beyond Soundtrack Volume 4 has only 75 tracks from the series, composed by the great Shirley Walker. But the album features music from some of the series’ more popular and acclaimed episodes.

For instance, the album includes music from the episode “Out of the Past”, which featured Bruce and Talia’s reunion, the Lazarus Pit, and Terry and Bruce fighting side by side. Then, there’s “Hidden Agenda,” which introduced Max as Terry’s Robin. And “King’s Ransom”, the season 3 premiere, which introduced the Royal Flush Gang to the world. Or how about “Countdown” and the Zeta Project crossover?

And that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, which you can now experience on all major digital and streaming music services.

Who Are the Dynamic Music Partners?

Dynamic Soundtrack Records is, of course, the private label of composers Michael McCuistion, Lolita Ritmanis, and Kristopher Carter. The trio, collectively known as the Dynamic Music Partners, has written the music for our childhoods for the past 30 years.

For instance, they helped Walker pen the music for the entire DC Animated Universe (DCAU), including the Batman Beyond soundtrack.IN fact, their contributions go way back to the beginning with Batman: The Animated Series.

However, their accomplishments don’t end with just animation. Their discography includes TV series, independent films, video games, and live performances. And through it all, they received twenty-eight Emmy Award nominations and six Annie Award nominations. That includes the musical Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Mayhem of the Music Meister, the first Batman musical ever.

What is Batman Beyond?

If you’re new to Batman Beyond, you’re in for a treat because the show was a phenomenon. Also called Batman of the Future, the show was basically the culmination and embodiment of the DCAU and the late-90s culture. It’s still held in high regard by fans, over twenty years later.

As I have said above, the show answers the question of what happens when Batman retires. To do that, it follows the adventures of Terry McGinnis, a teenage delinquent living in a future Gotham, some 50 years after Batman: The Animated Series (BTAS). McGinnis, of course, becomes the new Batman after a chance encounter with an aging Bruce Wayne.

The series ran for three seasons from 1999 to 2001 on the WB Network before being basically canceled due to network interference. Throughout its run, the show served as a continuation of BTAS and its sequel, The New Batman Adventures. And finally, it served as the chronological end of the DCA.

You could stream the series for years, but now we can listen to its Batman Beyond Soundtrack.

The Other Batman Beyond Soundtrack Volumes

As I have said, Batman Beyond brought McGinnis’s story to life with a soundtrack from Dynamic Music Partners. To make it, the trio generally gave the Batman Beyond Soundtrack a more cyberpunk and industrial sound than the rest of the DCAU.

And because it was the 90s, Bat Fans didn’t have to wait long to own it. That’s because Rhino Records released a 20-track CD shortly after the first season ended. The album featured some of the show’s most popular scores, but it’s long out of print.

Sure, you could buy the old album used off eBay or something, but why when there’s a better option?

The New Releases

That better option is, of course, this new Batman Beyond Soundtrack collection from Dynamic Soundtrack Records. And, as you would expect from this article’s title, there are already four volumes of this collection, which began in 2023.

Each album features between 70 and 100 remastered editions of the show’s original score, listed in chronological order by episode. They also came with complete breakdowns of the track list. However, you had to be on the Dynamic Music Partners’ email list to get them.

As I have said, the collection began in 2023 when Dynamic Soundtrack released Volume 1 on December 8, 2023. This album featured 95 tracks from the show’s first season, along with a few remixes from Walker.

Volume 2 arrived on September 20, 2024, and continued where Volume 1 left off. It also added an additional 98 tracks to the collection. Volume 3 came a year later on September 19, 2025, bearing another 90 tracks.

And finally, we have the recently released Volume 4, with another volume likely to come next year.

Final Thoughts: What Does This Batman Beyond Soundtrack Collection Mean for Fans

If you have never heard the Batman Beyond Soundtrack before, do it. It might be an acquired taste, especially if you’re new to late 90s music. But you owe it to yourself to at least give the soundtrack a try.

And that’s because the music is among the reasons the series was so acclaimed. It was peak 90s music through and through, and oddly diegetic. The series often played with the soundtrack visually. For instance, the action beats were often timed perfectly with the rhythm. Heck, even the show’s title sequence was a music video.

So, I’m glad we get to hear those cues again. We can finally relive those moments whenever we want. And we don’t have to deal with shady auctions to do it.
