Adult Swim Premieres For The Weekend Of March 19
This weekend’s Adult Swim premieres are a lot like last weekend’s Adult Swim premieres, only with slightly different events. For example, instead of Yoshi, you get Bea Arthur.
First off is the first-ever airing of the Robot Chicken episode “May Cause an Excess of Ham.” According to Adult Swim’s official description of the episode, “Robot Chicken tells the Lion King tale from the POV of the wildebeests. Check out what happens when a mouse accepts a browser cookie, and watch the Golden Girls discover the otherworldly and deadly secret behind St. Olaf!” I never knew what denomination the Golden Girls belonged to, but it’s apparently the little-known branch of Catholicism that worships the snowman from Frozen.
One day before then, Toonami kicks off with another new episode of the latest AS / Crunchyroll co-production, Shenmue: The Animation. Here’s where we are in the story:
“In “Future,” Ryo meets Lishao Tao, the person he was looking for. Lishao, a martial arts master, easily defeats Ryo and tells him to go home. Thinking he lost because he does not have enough strength, Ryo goes around Hong Kong to find a martial artist.” This episode premieres Saturday, March 5 at 12:00 a.m. ET/PT, but right before then, sit back for a brand-new Total Immersion Event starring TOM and SARA called “The Return.”
All episodes can be viewed multiple ways: the network itself, Adult Swim.com, and the Adult Swim app.
