It may be the worst-kept secret of Disney‘s upcoming Avengers Doomsday, but it’s finally been confirmed as true: the X-Men are in it. We mean the original cinematic X-Men introduced by 20th Century Fox 25 years ago, in a project Disney initially had nothing to do with. In fact the success of the X-Men movies might’ve been the catalyst that pushed Marvel Studios into becoming a thing. Who knows?
But here we are, full circle, same umbrella, and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier in an Avengers movie. He says something about not being afraid to die and then reveals he’s sitting with his old frenemy Magneto. We don’t get just that though….we get, for the first time in one of these short teasers, an actual action shot. It’s Cyclops unleashing an optic blast into the air. As usual, Scott Summers doesn’t look too happy.
Ian McKellen is Magneto under that long beard, and that is James Marsden as Cyclops, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Kelsey Grammer as the Beast and Channing Tatum as Gambit are also confirmed. And that’s in addition to…
