X-Force Movie Is Ryan Reynolds’ Next Priority
Ryan Reynolds has proven he is a patient man. After all, he waited over a decade to finally don the Deadpool outfit. And now he’s getting to enjoy the fruits of his patient labors. Reviews for Deadpool continue to be positive, and word has already hit the media that Deadpool 2 has already been greenlit (true, this also happened to Fantastic 4 when the reboot hit theaters…but I think this one will be different).
While promoting the Deadpool movie, Ryan Reynolds noted to Filmstarts that if Deadpool was going to be in more films outside of his solo franchise, he’d want to do more X-Men films, primarily an X-Force film.
“In the future, I think, if we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re gonna really explore the X-Men a lot,” he said, adding, “And maybe X-Force. X-Force my priority. I really want to get that in.”
For those unaware, X-Force is a squad of X-Men tasked with dealing with threats to mutantkind in a very permanent fashion, which goes against the code of many X-Men, the team usually features Wolverine, but also Deadpool, Psylocke (who will be in X-Men: Apocalypse) and Deadpool frenemy, Cable. An X-Force movie has been rumored to be in the works, and Deadpool’s success could be the final domino (also on the team) to fall before getting it to happen for real.
Deadpool arrives in theaters on February 12th.
