Ubisoft E3 Overview
Ubisoft brings more than expected to the table and in a fun way.
Ubisoft usually has a decent E3 conference, however this year they have brought out a bit more compared to last year’s E3. From updates to Beyond Good and Evil 2 to gameplay of the latest installment of one of their biggest IPs. Here are the things that were mentioned, but too small to bring up on their own.
Beyond Good and Evil 2
The highly anticipated game Beyond Good and Evil 2 was given an update this year as we learn a bit more about the game. Firstly, this game is a prequel to the original. Secondly the game will be seamless in how modes are changed from third person mode to space flight. You can play alone or in co op as well. Ubisoft has partnered up with Hit Record, a community based production company founded by Joseph Gordon-Levitt to have artists and musicians supply the art and music for the game. A bold and interesting move by Ubisoft. We were shown pre alpha footage of the game and if it keeps up through production we are bound to see the most visually stunning game ever.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 got some new details at this conference. One of the new features is post game sub-classes. After you hit max level and complete the main story you’ll have the choice of weapon specialties. The weapons are sniper rifle, crossbow, and grenade launcher. Choices and actions in the game will affect what the outcome is. There will be raids as well and players will get three free DLC episodes for the game.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 comes out March 15th 2019
Skull and Bones
Skull and Bones, Ubisoft’s pirate game. Was given an update and gameplay footage was shown. Some of these details include customization of your ship to help in combat, the introduction of fortunes that will affect gameplay in some way. We were also shown that you may recruit other pirate crews to help take down more powerful enemy ship. However, they can turn on you once things are said and done. However there is no release date as of yet.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
The latest installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise takes us to ancient Greece in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. We were shown gameplay footage during the conference and more details. Storytelling has changed with the ability to now choose what you say similar to Mass Effect. So what you say will affect alliances along side your actions. You now have the ability to choose to play a male or female, a first in the series, however you would switch between the two in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey releases October 5th 2018.
Quick News
Ubisoft announced Just Dance 2019 which will release in October 2018. Trials Rising, the sequel to Ubisoft’s BMX game Trials will be coming out in Febuary 2019. You are able to sign up for a closed beta of the game later this year. Transference was shown off and was described as a combination of film and video games to tell a psychological thriller that has you go inside the minds of another person.
