Tim Schafer's Favorite Game He's Made Is…
When you’re a company that’s made a bunch of games, especially ones that were very well received, one has to ask which is a personal favorite of the developers. For Double Fine and Tim Schafer, they’ve made an incredible lineup of games throughout the years, and decades! So you know there’s a lot to choose from.
In an interview with IGN, Schafer revealed which game was his favorite, and it was definitely a surprise.
“One of things I’m proudest of is Happy Action Theater. Have you ever watched a family playing that together? It’s the most inspiring thing, there’s just so much happiness…little kids laughing…your grandparents playing it…. Then the family dog jumps in.”
Ironically enough, it was a bad game that set Happy Action Theater into motion. Making Schafer want to make something where “there’s no barrier, everyone just gets in and has fun together.”
He went on…
“Another element that made it so rewarding was how visible people’s engagement with it was.”
This just goes to show that you can’t always predict what people are going to say, or pick in regards to favorites. Who knows? Maybe a new game him and Double Fine make will be his new favorite five years from now!
