Thunder Force coming to Netflix this April 9
Netflix just released the trailer of Thunder Force. An original Superhero film starring two of the most talented actresses in the biz.
Thunder Force is Superhero film that breaks the mold because of the leads. As the film that doesn’t follow the cliche of what a superheroine should look like. Melissa Mccarthy and Octavia Spencer are out of their comfort zone as they play superheroes. The film does remind me a bit of the superhero comic book Faith. After Thunder Force, Mccarthy should be a shoe in for a live action version of that.
Melissa Mccarthy have done some comedy action films before but she did a serious action film with the film Kitchen. Octavia Spencer is mostly known for drama roles but she did show her range in past films before. I mean I remember her playing a serial Killer in Ma.
There is a comparison to Queen Latifah’s the Equalizer because this film have middle aged plus sized women as leads too. These talented actresses plays Lydia and Emily, Estranged best friends who became superheroes.
Middle aged women had played superheroine roles before but they have youthful appearance and sex appeal. Mccarthy an Spencer are not Supermodels. People know them more for their talents than their looks. These ladies are beautiful in their own way though. It is actually refreshing to see superheroes who looks like people you can meet on the streets.
Fans seemed to embrace the trailer well because the leads have great rapport with each other. No virtue signalling and politics but it spreads a message that everyone can be a hero. Thunder Force is directed and Written by Ben Falcone who worked with Mccarthy before with hit films like Bridesmaids, The Head and Tammy.
Some familiar faces also stars in this film like Pom Klementieff who played Mantis in MCU, Jason Bateman and Bobby Cannavale.
