The Trailer Is Out For “Don’t Knock Twice”
Remember Starbuck? She’s back, and with offspring, in the new horror thriller Don’t Knock Twice, also known by its working title, Knocking Twice is Unnecessary.
Don’t Knock Twice follows a guilt-ridden mother (Katee Sackhoff) who wants to reconnect with the daughter (Boynton) she was forced to place into care. To save her estranged daughter, she has to uncover the terrifying truth behind the urban legend of a vengeful, demonic witch.
So what kind of beef does a witch have with her kid? Well, the aforementioned urban legend stated that if you go to the witch’s house and knock more than once on her door, she’ll come after you for reasons unexplained in the promotional material and feed you to a demon for kicks. I blame her lack of proper parenting for getting into this mess.
Now the trailer is out….and are we really plastering the titles and release dates all over every second of this? That’s a tactic used for TV advertising, just to cover those people who look away from TV ads yet might catch a glimpse of the trailer for one second. BAM, now you know the title, it’s too late! Money validated!
But it is far from necessary in the case of an Internet trailer, where the only reason you would be watching was if you already knew about the movie and might even be planning to see it already. This should not become a trend. If I were a witch, I would go after people who did this, not teenagers who simply knocked on my door and ran away.
Don’t Knock Twice will be out Groundhog’s Day in US theaters, and comes to the UK the following month.
