“The Retirement Plan” is an action movie featuring one of the most sought-after actors of the moment, Nicolas Cage. At the time of writing this article, he has seven upcoming movies listed on his IMDB page. It seems that at the age of 61, he has finally embraced his mature roles.  This marks his first time portraying a grandfather on screen. Although he is already a grandpa in real life, this film presents the first opportunity for him to portray that role in a movie.

Additionally, “The Retirement Plan” serves as a reunion for Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman, who developed a close friendship while filming “Season of the Witch” in 2011.

The Retirement Plan

Matt (Nicolas Cage) hasn’t seen his daughter  for so many years. Their relationship has been estranged because he is not always around. He lives a lazy beach bum lifestyle in the Cayman Islands.  Most people think he just a senile old man  but he was a highly trained  assassin. He may look like a harmless old man but he still have the skills of a one man army. One day his granddaughter, Sarah (Thalia Campbell) asked for his help because her mother is in trouble. Matt and his daughter Ashley (Ashley Greene) are not in good terms and hasn’t talked for  a decade but at the end of the day, he is still her father.

Ashley’s life is in danger, and the only one who can save her is her estranged father. The truth shattered her perception when she realized that he wasn’t just the deadbeat dad she believed him to be.

Instead, he possessed the extraordinary ability to effortlessly eliminate dangerous men. Her father is either an assassin or a secret agent. All the armed men involved in kidnapping his daughter and sabotaging his retirement plans will soon regret ever crossing paths with this skilled senior.

The Retirement plan will be in theaters this August 5.
