Tekken X Street Fighter Is "Far Into Development"
A crossover that many fans were happy to see were not one but two games combining the worlds of Street Fighter and Tekken. The first of these two games, Street Fighter X Tekken, has already released, but it’s brother, Tekken X Street Fighter, hasn’t come out yet. In fact, no news has been heard about it in a while. However, Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada revealed to Famitsu that the game is actually pretty far into development.
“It might seem like we haven’t started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago,” Harada said, adding that the character models, moves and gameplay systems appear to be set.
The interesting thing is that since Tekken X Street Fighter was first announced, both franchises have announced new additions to their core series. And yet, Harada isn’t afraid to say the game will be changing things up, though he hasn’t revealed how it will be different. He stated, “I can’t really say how we’re aiming to surprise fans right now, but we’ve been playing around with many different ideas.”
Hopefully we’ll get new details on the title soon, including when we might expect it to come out to consoles.
