Publisher Iceberg Interactive and developer Darkling Room produce a series of ghost-hunting adventure games called the Crown series. Their latest entry is due out this December, and takes an appropriate seasonal theme. In Silent Night: A Ghost Story For Christmas, the town of Northfield is being haunted by specters from 1349, when the Black Plague terrorized Europe. It being the Dark Ages, it took while to pin the blame on the rats — in the meantime the townsfolk were busy accusing each other of cursing the land. Now they’re dead, but that doesn’t mean they’re resting. It’s Christmas Eve in Northfield Church, and though it’s snowy and cold outside, ghost hunter Nigel Danvers would prefer to be anywhere else — the ghosts are definitely here and active. To survive the night, he’ll have to hunt the ghosts down and avoid traps both within the church and the Carrion Woods outside its walls.
