Developer Creepy Jar specializes in strategy and survival games, and they’ve taken everything they’ve learned from their breakthrough title, Green Hell, and applied it to their sophomore effort – a first-person open-world base-building game called StarRupture.
Welcome to the harsh. unforgiving planet of Arcadia-7. You’re a prisoner owned by a massive corporation and sentenced to find a way to terraform this wild and unpredictable environment. Build your base and start searching for the resources you need…the planet has a lot of riches, but it’s full of alien monsters that stand between you and your goals. As you expand your base, discover new areas and increase your power, you’ll eventually get better at dealing with whatever Arcadia-7 throws your way. Just remember: you’re on the cosmic clock. You’ve only got so long to complete your goals; this planet’s star is due to explode before long!
- Explore a Deadly Planet – Explore this vast open world, rich in resources, places, and secrets to be found. Discover the beauty of this constantly reborn dangerous world torn apart by repeated cataclysms.
- Build to Thrive – Search, mine, and process resources to develop your complex industrial system. Unlock new technologies that will allow you and your base to survive the harsh conditions on the planet.
- Fight to Survive – The planet will surprise you at every turn. Extreme temperatures are not the only things you’ll be challenged with. Get ready to defend yourself, your team, and your base from a horde of aggressive alien creatures.
- Alone or with Friends – Experience and survive everything you encounter on this harsh planet. Do it alone or in a group of up to 4 friends. This world is waiting for you to discover.
Creepy Jar estimates that StarRupture should be ready for a Steam Early Access release sometime this fall. Keep an eye on the game’s official website for further info.
