Stranger Things Season Two Will Bring Weirder Stuff
Emmy Magazine, the official publication of the Emmy academy, has published a new interview with the child stars of Stranger Things. Among other comments, they reveal some previously unknown bits of information about the next season of the Netflix hit.
“The great thing about this [upcoming] season is you get to see insights into each character on their own,” said Gaten Matarazzo, aka Dustin. “You’re going to see a lot more into the lives of how the characters are coping with what’s been going on. They’re all very emotionally scarred. They feel alone because their best friend is back and he’s not acting like their best friend anymore. He’s changed.”
Dustin was a character that mostly played a supporting role in Season One; we never learned much about his home or private life. We’ll gain a lot more knowledge about him in Season Two.
Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, told the camera that Season Two will be a bit darker and more intense than Season One. “There are going to be some challenges the characters face that are REAL…that are more disturbing.” That could mean more Upside Down monsters, or it could mean bigger problems in the real world. Most likely both.
“I think this season will be a lot more dark. A lot more horror oriented,” Wolfhard said. “I think people are going to like it more than the first season.”
Season Two of Stranger Things launches on Netflix this Halloween.
