Amiibo’s have literally taken over. Their sales are through the roof, and everyone (including yours truly) are trying to get their hands on their favorite characters, all the while wondering which Amiibo’s will be coming out next. A report stated that Yacht Club Games Shovel Knight, from the game of the same name, would be getting an Amiibo soon, and possibly a place in Smash Bros. because of it. This naturally spread like wildfire across the internet, and fans wanted a definitive answer. Well luckily for us all, at a special Pre-Pax Nindies at Night showing, Nintendo unveiled this…
Yep, it’s real! The Shovel Knight Amiibo is real! And it’s coming later this year. To add to the fun, and the exclusivity, the Amiibo will unlock a co-op mode in Shovel Knight that’ll only be found on the Wii U. But for both Wii U and 3DS, special challenge mode and customization options will be unlock as well. Also an exclusive.
Now, as for Smsah Bros., Nintendo stated that the Shovel Knight Amiibo wouldn’t work with any first-party titles at the moment. Meaning anything purely Nintendo. However, that could change int he future and they’re looking into integrating it. That being said, the Shovel Knight Amiibo will work on future Yacht Club Games that come to Nintendo platforms.
