Last year, it was revealed that the Milestone Comics brand would be returning, and with it, would come new comics featuring Static Shock, Icon, and other classic characters from the once prominent brand. However, since then, no word has come as to whether this was still happening.
At SDCC, DC Comics talked about the brand and how things were progressing:
“We’re still talking with Reggie [Hudlin],” DC Co-Publisher Jim Lee told CBR News at a press event, citing the busy schedule of Hudlin — in a leadership position of the new Milestone — as part of what’s affected the revival’s progress. “First off, he was a producer on the Academy Awards, he’s directing a movie based on a former Supreme Court member [Thurgood Marshall]. He just finished that up. We talk like once a week or so. It’s still moving forward, albeit at a slightly slower pace.”
It was noted later in the panel that a retreat with the Milestone team would be coming soon.
