Scooby-Doo Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog
Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog
Scooby Dooby Doo Where are you? Scooby-doo is now out of Nowhere as he and the Mystery Inc unsolves another mystery.
Crossovers are not new to this franchise. We had seen Mystery Inc Investigated a case with Batman. The Winchester Brothers from Supernatural had gone 2d and meet Scooby and his friends. There was also a time when WWE Wrestler AJ Lee trained Scooby-Do and Shaggy and that leads to Scooby-Doo winning the WWE championships.
Now he is going to meet Courage who also deals with the horrors of the paranormal. No one asked for this but it’s a brilliant idea. It makes more sense than the crossover with Supernatural. There used to be a petition to add Shaggy as a Mortal Kombat DLC but it didn’t come to fruition. I am glad that one didn’t happen.
After a successful CGI movie and some live-action films, it is nice to see Scooby-Doo always going back to his 2d animated roots. There is an upcoming Velma Project that race-bends her to east Asian descent. It is also rumored that an R-18 Scooby doo film is in the works. Despite all those projects, it’s nice to see some Scooby-Doo projects that are hand-drawn. After multiple reboots and spin-offs, The Mystery Inc keeps going back to its roots.
In this film Eustace and Muriel Bagge together with their dog courage will work with Mystery Inc. They will try to uncover the secrets of the giant insects and who is behind these monsters. Despite the art style differences, the Characters between the IPs look great together.
This is a clash between two generations of cartoons but the combination feels right. Most people have positive reactions to the crossover. I wonder what will be the next crossover after this one.
Scooby-doo had multiple reboots, A successful CGI film,live-action adaptations, and recent Velma will have her solo series. Despite all of that, this franchise always goes back to its 2d roots.
