Rocket League Blasts Onto Xbox One Tomorrow

The hit car soccer game Rocket League is due to launch on the Xbox One tomorrow. The game’s developer, Psyonix, had previously revealed that the title was coming to the console but have now revealed an exact release date of February 17.

The port has been handled by a team at Panic Button and will include plenty of additional content to help justify the long wait Xbox players have had to suffer to get their hands on Rocket League. For $19.99 / £15.99 price tag, fans will get the full title that is available on other platforms as well as three pieces of downloadable content. This includes the Supersonic Fury pack, Revenge of the Battle-Cars and Chaos Run, which brings new cars, decals, wheels, rocket trails and other customizable options to the base game.

In addition to those DLCs, there are a number of exclusive items for the Xbox One. One of these is a Gears of War themed car known as the Armadillo while the other is based on the iconic Warthog from the Halo franchise. A special rocket trail inspired by Sunset Overdrive will also be available. Unfortunately, this version of the game will not allow cross-play with other platforms.

Rocket League has become one of the most popular games of the past few years since its release on PlayStation 4 and PC in July 2015. It is a sequel to an earlier game known as Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars and features a single player mode alongside a number of multiplayer game types.
