Revenge of Others

Revenge of Others is a Binge-Worthy Murder Mystery

“Revenge of Others” is a 2022 K-drama series based on a webtoon of the same name, with 12 episodes, and categorized as Action, Crime, Mystery, High School (or Youth), and Revenge Drama.

Who Killed My Brother?

In “Revenge of Others”, Ok Chan-Mi is having a wonderful conversation with her twin brother on the phone when the conversation is interrupted. She didn’t know what happened. She tried for several days to reach her brother but he was not answering the phone. She decides to move from Busan to Seoul to find him.

When she arrives in Seoul she is told that her brother committed suicide. The police had closed the case but Ok Chan-Mi intended to investigate. There was no way her brother killed himself. They were on the phone talking to each other. She asked the police and his adoptive parents for her brother’s phone. They both said they did not have it. The phone is missing?? WHY??

Ok Chan-Mi transferred to the same high school that her brother attended to start digging into his MURDER. Murder. Not suicide. MURDER!! Nobody knew her at Yong-Tan High School. Her brother had been adopted and even his adoptive parents did not know that he had kept in contact with his twin sister.

Ok Chan-Mi makes friends with two male students: Ji Soo-Heon and Seok Jae-Bum. Ji Soo-Heon has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, and the doctor told him he has about 6 months to a year to live. Seok Jae-Bum, for some reason, has to repeat his senior year in high school. Like Ok Chan-Mi, he is a transfer student.

  • Ok Chan-Mi started following Ji Soo-Heon because she thought he might know something about what happened to her brother. She accidentally learned about his medical condition.
  • Ok Chan-Mi is an athlete on the shooting team and her instructor told her to help Seok Jae-Bum get adjusted as he was going to be on the team too.

Ok Chan-Mi did not come to Seoul to make friends, nor did she expect support from anyone to help her uncover the truth about how her brother died. Nevertheless, the lifelines of these three (3) students have crossed and connected.  Is it possible one of them murdered her brother?

Where to Watch

Viewership and Rating:

  • IMDb: 7.6 out of 10 stars
  • My Drama List: 8.5 out of 10 stars
  • Dramabeans: 9 out of 10 stars
  • NME: 3 out of 5 stars
  • Public rating shared via Google: 4.9 out of 5 stars
  • Common Sense Media: 3 out of 5 stars

My personal rating is 9 out of 10 stars.

The low rating some reviewers gave is confusing to me. But it does not seem to be what most viewers thought. It was easy to find lots of reviewers who wanted to contribute their “two cents” about “Revenge of Others”.

I am a peaceful person and do my best to avoid confrontation. But sometimes, a person will get all up in your face and you have to forcefully persuade them to leave you alone. That’s one of the reasons for giving “Revenge of Others” a high rating. The bullies get their butts kicked!! YES!!! (Humor me. I don’t get out much. LOL.)

Also, the main female character was very relatable. You immediately empathized and sympathized with her circumstances. You also admired her determination to get to the truth about her brother’s death. She was a strong female lead, mentally and physically. The male characters who befriended and supported her deserved commendation too.

Lastly, even though she was part of the supporting cast, I liked the girl with the white hair.

I love a good underdog story, and it seems like Ok Chan-Mi is exactly that. Her determination to seek justice for her brother is admirable. Plus, the camaraderie between her and her new friends adds an interesting layer to the story.

Wow, this series sounds intense! I can't believe the main character's determination to uncover the truth about her brother's death. I'm rooting for her all the way. It's crazy to think one of her new friends might be involved in the murder. Can't wait to binge-watch this!I totally get why you rated it so high. The storyline is gripping, and the characters are so well-developed. Plus, who doesn't love seeing bullies getting what they deserve? It's satisfying to watch justice being served, even if it's just in a drama.

I binged "Revenge of Others" over the weekend, and let me tell you, it was worth every minute! The storyline is so gripping, and the characters feel like real people you could meet in your everyday life. Ok Chan-Mi's journey from grief to determination is so relatable, and her friendship with Ji Soo-Heon and Seok Jae-Bum adds layers to the narrative. And that ending? Talk about a jaw-dropping reveal! The way she navigates through high school drama while unraveling the mystery behind her brother's death is both heartwarming and thrilling. Plus, the chemistry between the cast members is undeniable. I'd definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for a binge-worthy murder mystery with a twist.

As someone who's seen their fair share of K-dramas, "Revenge of Others" stands out for all the right reasons. Ok Chan-Mi's journey is not just about seeking revenge but also about finding closure for her brother's death. The chemistry between the main cast members is palpable, and the plot twists kept me guessing until the very end. It's a binge-worthy series that leaves you wanting more, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next season.
