Outlast, Netflix Answer to Survivor
Outlast, the new Netflix reality competition boasts the second-highest cash prize next to “Squid Game:The Challenge.” Unlike most Netflix reality shows with cash prizes ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, Outlast offers a whopping $1 million to the victor. It’s important not to confuse this show with a video game of the same name, as they have no relation to each other.
As a child, I enjoyed watching Survivor; however, recent seasons have toned down the 22-year-old reality show. The show now focuses more on strategy and advantages rather than survival. The producers used to abandon contestants in harsh environments worldwide, but Survivor stays in Fiji because of a deal.
Outlast strives to be different. For starters, they’re not in a tropical location. They’re in the Alaskan wilderness with only the clothes on their backs. The US version of Survivor refuses to have a cold location season because they believe people watch it for eye candy, which is wrong. There are so many contestants I don’t want to see half-naked.
Moreover, the Outlast contestants are not your typical people; this time around, they are trained survivalists. They must use their survival skills to outlast the competition and win the grand prize. With high stakes and a unique location, Outlast promises to be an exciting reality show that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Here is a Sneak peak of Outlast
16 Survivalist who have wolf mentality will team up in the Alaskan Wilderness for a chance to win a Million dollars. No Challenges, No Blindsides just pure good old Survival. This show is an ultimate test of Endurance and patience because you cannot people to get rid of them. The only way to be eliminated is to quit. There is still social dynamic because contestant must form teams to increase their chances to Survive. Since you cannot vote off people, If you cannot stand your team mates, you can simply transfer.
Outlast will start streaming on Netflix this March 10.
