August 2026 is Oni Press‘s first month shipping exclusively through Penguin Random House. The distribution switch has been in motion for a while, and August is the cut-over.
The month also lands what is clearly Oni’s intended marquee launch on top of that distribution change. Matt Kindt has two books on the August schedule, both under his Flux House imprint. A 12-issue maxiseries debut arrives with Brian Hurtt. The third issue of his relaunched MIND MGMT ships three weeks later. Both books mark Flux House’s first month under PRH distribution.
Flux House Plants Its Flag
FORT PSYCHO #1 (of 12) carries the heavier launch package. The 40-page first chapter ships with eleven covers: four labeled tiers, a blank sketch variant, a foil, and ratio variants from 1:10 down to a 1:125 metal. Oni is also running a 12-issue pre-order bundle that adds a 13th issue, FORT PSYCHO #0, fulfilling alongside issue #12 in 2027.
The setup centers on a covert United Nations strike team. The Seven Seals, an underground terrorist network, sank the nation of Singapore ten years ago. The UN built a team to hunt the network’s leader. Their final mission ended too bloody to bury. The surviving agents now serve their time inside Fort Cyclone, the headquarters they once operated from. The media calls it “Fort Psycho.”
MIND MGMT: NEW AND IMPROVED #3, written and drawn by Kindt, picks up Detectives Delphi and Swon in the snowy peaks of France. They are investigating the seemingly accidental death of an Immortal. Swon’s Mind Management training begins to resurface, and Delphi must decide whether to report his erratic behavior.
EC’s Two Modes
The EC Comics line ships one war anthology and one horror book this month. SHELLSHOCK #1 (ONE-SHOT) is a 56-page giant-sized war book with five writers (Julio Anta, John Arcudi, Benito Cereno, Michael W. Conrad, and Tom Fowler) and four artists (Fowler, David Lapham, Shawn Martinbrough, and Albert Monteys). A remastered EC classic rounds out the issue. CATACOMB OF TORMENT #14 stays on the horror side with three new tales from David M. Booher, Jordan Clark, Jude Ellison S. Doyle, and others.
Both books carry the EC Homage variant program. Jay Stephens draws the SHELLSHOCK homage; Shawn McManus draws the CATACOMB homage. The shared variant lineage ties the two anthologies together across two genres.
Biker Mice Goes Cross-Platform
Oni puts BIKER MICE FROM MARS into market two ways this month. BIKER MICE FROM MARS: SCORCH #1 (of 4) introduces Scorch, the first new character to enter the BIKER MICE pantheon. The issue ties into her upcoming appearance in the BIKER MICE animated series and toy line. BIKER MICE FROM MARS VOL. 2: INTERGALACTIC ODYSSEY SC collects the second arc of the 2025 ongoing.
Matt Hotson writes both the new miniseries and the collected arc. The comic ties to her upcoming animated-series and toy-line appearance. Cross-platform is the point of the launch.
Adventure Time at a Run Boundary
ADVENTURE TIME ships two issues this month with two different teams. ADVENTURE TIME #16 closes Nick Winn’s first run on the series. Golb is back, Magic Man is about to walk away, and the solicitation promises the next run will be “doubly mathematical.” ADVENTURE TIME: QUADRUPLE FEATURE #2 (of 4) puts Mariko Tamaki and Brenda Hickey on a Marceline-led 1970s crime-thriller pastiche, the second of four standalone shorts in the miniseries.
One issue closes a run; the other is mid-arc on a parallel anthology.
Last Stands and Hard Choices
Three creator-driven books each reach a pivot in August. FACELESS AND THE FAMILY: MAZE OF THE MECHANICAL ALIENS #2 lands Matt Lesniewski’s Faceless and his found family in the path of the Carpal Tunnel Gang. Faceless faces a choice between protecting his found family and walking away to spare them. Katari weighs whether to remove his own bio-armor.
DESTINATION KILL #4 (of 4) closes Joe Palmer’s neon-colored four-parter. Detective Gina Serene and P.I. Lance Wingman gear up for a last stand against the Builders at the supersonic train’s anniversary gala at Paradise Loop. SUPER MONDO MEGA MUTTS #2 (of 4) continues Curt Pires and Juan Gedeon’s Los Angeles mutt-action chase as the Grey Cube corporation comes for the team.
The Collected Shelf Doing Five Jobs
The seven collected editions on August’s schedule do five jobs at once. Outside-IP adaptations: CULT OF THE LAMB VOLUME TWO: LAST SACRAMENT SC from Alex Paknadel and Troy Little adapts the Massive Monster and Devolver Digital game, and CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: SPACE AND BEYOND SC adapts R.A. Montgomery’s classic with Jeremy Lambert and Dani Bolinho. Licensed continuing collection: BIKER MICE FROM MARS VOL. 2: INTERGALACTIC ODYSSEY SC covers the second arc of the ongoing.
Creator-owned collections: CROWNSVILLE SC from Rodney Barnes and Elia Bonetti collects all five issues of the Maryland-asylum horror story, and FREAKS’ SQUEELE VOL. 3 HC continues Florent Maudoux’s young-adult fantasy series. Anniversary remaster: GHOST PROJEKT (NEW EDITION) SC marks 15 years since Joe Harris and Steve Rolston’s post-Cold War supernatural thriller first ran. Original graphic novel debut: Michèle Fischels’s OUTLINE HC is her graphic novel debut.

WELCOME TO FORT PSYCHO, THE EXTREME ACTION COMIC THAT ONLY STOPS TO RELOAD! From New York Times bestselling writer Matt Kindt (BRZRKR, Mind MGMT) and adrenaline-racing artist Brian Hurtt (The Sixth Gun, Manor Black), enter the 40-page first chapter of a powerful new maxi-series stocked with trained killers, secret betrayals, and the long-buried truth about the mission that led them to an off-the-grid island prison with no hope of escape…
Ten years ago, the nation of Singapore sank into the Pacific Ocean. The underground terrorist network known as the Seven Seals took credit for the largest act of terror in human history. In the aftermath, the United Nations created a strike team of highly trained covert operatives with one mission: locate, identify, and eliminate the Seven Seals’ secretive leader. The team’s clandestine affairs were to always remain in the shadows, until their final, explosive confrontation resulted in a large-scale tragedy too bloody to cover up and too tragic to ignore.
Disgraced and disavowed by the governments that trained them, the world’s most dangerous secret agents have been convicted for their crimes and sentenced to serve time side by side in the one place capable of holding them: their old island headquarters, Fort Cyclone, now known in the media by the derogatory nickname “Fort Psycho.”
And that’s where the official story is about to go terribly, terribly wrong…

SINS OF THE PAST DON’T STAY BURIED… THEY ALWAYS FIND A WAY OF RISING FROM THE GRAVE! From Eisner Award, nominated writer and master storyteller Rodney Barnes (Batman: Full Moon, Killadelphia) and phenomenal artist Elia Bonetti (Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy), enter a centuries-spanning tale of suspense and sorrow as true crime meets shocking terror inside an infamous asylum with a tortured past.

When an unexplained death inside the abandoned hospital is ruled a suicide, Annapolis police detective Mike Simms and journalist Paul Blairare are compelled to dig deeper, only to discover the reality of the horrors that once took place there . . . and the powerful connection they share to the anguished spirits of the dead that are still locked within its walls.
