NYCC: Batman ’66 Meets Wonder Woman ’77
In a true meeting of the icons, Batman ’66 (aka Adam West) is set to meet Wonder Woman from her series in 1977, where she was portrayed by Lynda Carter. Titled Batman ’66 Meets Wonder Woman ’77, the digital first series will feature the Caped Crusader meeting the Amazon Princess in a tale spanning the decades.
At New York Comic Con, the team behind the comic talked about the concept. It will be co-written by Jeff Parker and Marc Andreyko. The latter of whom credited the former for making both series happen.
“It was Batman ’66 by Jeff Parker that inspired me to ask about doing Wonder Woman ’77, so getting to co-write with him is a dream come true,” Andreyko said in a statement. “The story we’re spinning spans 30 years as these two legendary Super Heroes fight an ancient evil across the decades. We’ve planned lots of twists, cameos and surprises along the way that fans of both series will appreciate.”
The twelve part digital series will begin launching in November, then be released as a six-part miniseries in January of next year.
As for who the two will face, they’ll be teaming up against a popular villain in the comics who was on neither show when they were on the air.
