Nintendo Will Reveal First Mobile Game Tomorrow, Will Have Direct Before Year's End
Nintendo dropped many details today about the recent past and the future of Nintendo. As the second quarterly report came it, it revealed many interesting tidbits about the 3DS and Wii U. But also, the company shed some light on some things we can expect in the future.
For sales, while the Wii U did not have a burst in sales, software like Mario Kart 8, Splatoon, and Animal Crossing continue to sell very well. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer has already sold over two million copies. Which is a surprise given that it’s not a typical Animal Crossing Game. As for Mario Kart, it’s nearing 6 million copies sold, meaning that basically half of the Wii U fanbase has a copy of Mario Kart 8.
Meanwhile, Amiibo’s have now crossed 20 million sold, which is no doubt going to rise as the stock gets replenished. However, a fun note from that reveal is that the recent Yarn Yoshi Amiibo have already sold over 400,00 figures. This game just came out, so that shows the interest in these very special Amiibo.
Finally, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima confirmed that the first Nintendo Mobile Game from the teamup with DeNA is going to be shown tomorrow on the 29th! But also, he confirmed that a Nintendo Direct will arrive before the end of the year.
