Netflix is Working on a Tomb Raider Anime
Tomb Raider is about to follow the footsteps of Castlevania!
After the success and renewal of Netflix’s anime adaptations of Castlevania and Dragon’s Dogma, Another Videogame Franchise will have an Anime treatment. This upcoming title is going to be a part of the Reboot canon. The reboot canon is a creation of Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix.
In this continuity, Lara Croft is more inexperienced and more human. She is not the sex symbol from the 90s anymore. They gave her a make-under instead of a makeover. No more unrealistic proportions and she looks like a real woman. She is also more empathetic compared to the arrogant Lara Croft from the PS1 era.
Camilla Luddington has a spectacular performance on the reboot trilogy. Here is me hoping she will reprise the role if an English dub is part of the plan.
Legendary Entertainment and Netflix are working together to develop this project.
This Anime is the first adaptation of Lara Croft that shares canon with a videogame timeline. It is a whole new story, but it is an official part of the Survivor Lara lore.
While waiting for this Anime, you can play the reboot trilogy to see Lara’s Journey before this upcoming adventure.
In Tomb Raider 2013, Lara Croft is an inexperienced Archeologist who got stranded on an island with her crew. There she will encounter Solari, A group of castaways who became a cult after staying on the Island for a long time.
After becoming a Survivor, Lara founds research of her father about the legendary City of Kitezh. Lara goes to Siberia to find answers about her dad’s disappearance. She will encounter Trinity. Trinity is a paramilitary group that wants to rule the world with the power of ancient artifacts.
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara will stop Trinity once in for all. She will go to South America to block them from causing an apocalypse.
