Mr. Freeze Cast In Gotham, Upcoming Arc Detailed

Gotham has never been shy about using iconic Batman villains in its show, whether it’s having them as a core member (Penguin, Riddler, etc.) or as a tease of what’s to come (Joker, Two-Face, Firefly, etc) it’s been very interesting to see how they interpret these characters into the “origin story” that is Gotham. Now, another key member of Batman’s Rogue Gallery has been cast. The one and only Victor Fries.

TV Line revealed that Nathan Darrow would play the iconic Victor Fries, and that his arc will show him prominently as he begins the journey towards being Mr. Freeze. Also, it’s going to be coming very soon:

“We’re going to be telling a heavy Fries story in Episodes 12 and 13,” said Executive Producer John Stephens.

Here’s a synopsis of what you can except from Victor Fries and his arc in Gotham.

“Though ferociously smart and eminently capable in his work as one of Gotham’s preeminent cryogenics engineers, Victor struggles to make meaningful connections with others,” the official character description reads.

“The one exception is his wife, Nora (casting TBA), who has tragically fallen ill with a terminal disease. Victor’s love for Nora knows no bounds, so as her condition worsens, he goes to extreme measures to figure out a way to freeze her before she dies. This harrowing journey leads to his transformation into the legendary DC villain, Mr. Freeze.”
