Microsoft Reveals New Look And Features Of Xbox One Guide
The Xbox One Guide is set to be significantly upgraded via a new update to the console, bringing it more into line with the original guide feature on the Xbox 360.
According to Xbox executive Mike Ybarra, the new updated guide will include a list of recently played games and apps so that players can jump straight into the action without having to navigate to the dashboard. It will also give players more chance to customize the recording time when pressing the “Record That” button, as well as provide access to the Xbox Store and video clips.
Another important change that is set to come with the guide update is the fact that a single press of the home button on the Xbox One controller will no longer take the user to the dashboard. It will now open the guide much like on the Xbox 360, with a link to the Xbox One Home included on the guide.
Originally, the console launched without any sort of guide, much to the chagrin of long time players who had become accustomed to using it. Microsoft began to slowly re-introduce many of the guide features several months after release.
