Josh Brolin “brings humanity” To Cable

Deadpool 2 was announced at the literal very end of the original Deadpool, and to many fans delight, Deadpool himself revealed that the film would feature his long-time frenemy Cable. Cable is a time-traveling mutant and is the son of Scott Summers. Him and Deadpool have worked together, fought against each other and more. And despite what they might say, they do respect one another, which makes him a perfect co-star for the sequel.

To everyone’s surprise though, Josh Brolin is going to play Cable. This was a surprise as Brolin is set to be Thanos again for two films in the Marvel Cinematic universe, which you’d think would be a conflict-of-interest, but apparently not. At San Diego Comic Con, IGN got to talk with David Leitch, who notes that Brolin is already doing great as Cable:

“When he graciously agreed to do the role, Ryan and I were through the roof; we love him,” said Leitch. “He’s such a great actor, he brings a humanity to Cable, but he also has the depth of acting chops to hang with the comedy when needed. He’s bringing that character to life in the short 12 days we’ve been shooting and I couldn’t be happier.”

What’s more, the chemistry between Brolin and star Ryan Reynolds is apparently really good. Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release in 2018.

  1. This is really interesting, and I think that Josh Brolin is on the wave if he has so many projects to attend to, and it seems that Marvel appreciates his work!
I am sure this movie will be a good one, pity that is so much until its release in 2018!
