After a record breaking performance at the box office with Furious 7, it’s not a stretch to think that its follow up, Fast & Furious 8, will try and do that one even better. For many, one of the big pluses for Furious 7 was having Jason Statham as the villain. Though he was captured and put into a maximum security prison, it appears he’ll be back. Or so he tells Access Hollywood:
“Yeah, it just shows the fanbase is very unique. They really do relate to the characters. They love these characters. They’ve followed them for years and years. We’re already talking about doing another one, Part 8. I’m a newcomer, I just got invited to the party on this last one. It is nice to know I’ll be doing another.”
He went on to tease, “There is some great stuff that I already know about.”
This will no doubt excite fans. Plus, with Kurt Russell also returning, and rumors of Eva Mendes making a true return to the series, the cast will obviously be at full star power. There’s also rumors that Fast & Furious 8 will be based in New York, which will no doubt add a lot of fun to the process.
Fast & Furious 8 is set for an April 14, 2017 release.
