Infinite Warfare Sees The Return Of Vehicular Combat
Back in the early days of Call of Duty, when the franchise was still set during World War II, the player was often able to jump into vehicles at certain sections of the campaign and freely wreak havoc on enemies with powerful weapons. It now looks as though this type of gameplay may be returning to the series, as new information suggests that at least one level of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will allow players to pilot a jackal craft.
This is a new development for the franchise in recent times. While some of the modern instalments have included vehicle sections, these have always been linear sections with the vehicle on-rails taking a set route through the action. The Infinite Warfare missions would mark a departure by giving players the ability to actually move the vehicle wherever they want.
This may indicate that Activision and the developers behind the series are trying to directly combat the latest Battlefield entry. Vehicular combat has always been an integral part of the Battlefield franchise and one of the reasons many players choose that series over Call of Duty.
