New Novel Series To Shed Light On Mass Effect Andromeda
While many people are obviously very excited to get their hands on the highly anticipated Mass Effect: Andromeda, one aspect has already caused some confusion. This is exactly how it fits into the canon of the franchise as a whole and just how it links to the controversial ending of Mass Effect 3.
BioWare has been understandably cagey about releasing too many story details, especially in light of how much of a negative reaction the conclusion to their previous story received. However, it now seems fans might get some answers thanks to a new series of novels from Titan.
According to the publisher, the first of these, written by N. K. Jemisin, will be released in August of this year and will be called The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. The next novels will follow on from this initial release in March 2017, September 2017, and March 2018, though Titan hasn’t revealed who their authors are or what the titles will be.
“The novels will act as prequel and sequels to the events in the games and will become part of the overarching Mass Effect saga,” the company said. “They will focus on key characters and answer the many questions fans have been asking.”
There have already been four novels released that are set in the Mass Effect universe. All of them were focused on the events of the original trilogy, often bridging the gap between story elements of those games.
