Daredevil: Footage for Cancelled Video Game Revealed
Unseen 64 and Did You Know Gaming? have finally provided a look back at a long-cancelled video game based on Marvel’s Daredevil franchise. You can check out the video that showcases the cancelled Daredevil: The Man Without Fear video game in the player below.
This would’ve been an open-world, third-person video game for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and Windows PC. It was originally going to be a small third-person game. However, with a new Daredevil movie in the works, it grew into an open-world sandbox game that would also be on Xbox and PC and not just PlayStation 2.
Unfortunately, the game was never finished, and it never saw the light of day. The project was later cancelled in June 2004. A playable version of the game never surfaced. A Daredevil game was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003 to coincide with the movie that starred Ben Affleck. You can check out more in the Unseen 64 video below.
Maybe the game would’ve been a failure, but an open-world Daredevil game definitely sounded pretty cool. There had actually already been some great Spider-Man video games around this time period, so if a Daredevil game could match that style, it definitely could’ve worked.
Thankfully, Daredevil did make a return to media at least in the form of a fantastic live-action TV series. The second season recently launched on Netflix earlier this year. Also, Insomniac Games recently announced a new Spider-Man video game for the PlayStation 4. A Daredevil game doesn’t seem realistic at this point, but in the future, who knows?
