Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger EP 5 - "Boom! The Cavities of Ankydon"

I'm still not quite sure why the show rushed so fast to reveal the identities of all the Kyoryugers to each other. If it was to hurry up and get it out of the way, just to focus on the remaining five Kyoryugers (6-10) and their mecha add-ons, then I still don't see why Riku Sanjo didn't just have the "identity arc" flow into the "spirit Kyoryugers arc" (assuming this is gonna be the focus of the next arc). Kinda makes me wonder how Kyoryuger's story would've turned out so far if it aired in the 90s, without these mecha add-ons.

My thoughts exactly haha, I would have been drooling over Kyoryuger early if they had a smooth, better paced identity reveal. Only now sometimes I can't help but wonder why the rush, and look forward to a solid reason to see if it was well worth the rush.

Because of their reluctance in revealing themselves, except for Daigo. The team was not really comming together. In fact, they were acting like five individuals. To where when Daigo needed help, the others were late. Which is why it was more sooner than later. Since a Sentai's strength is mostly from their teamwork.

I still can't quite get myself to like Souji or Ian (especially Souji) all that much. And I'm getting quite tired of all the spotlight they've been getting throughout this show. Come on, give the other three some more screen time! :P

I'm glad that the sound effects for ep 5 were cut down a lot more compared to eps 3 and 4. The ep was a whole lot easier for me to watch personally.

You know, the weird thing, I actually find Candelila to be the villain with the most potential so far, if Riku Sanjo writes her in a smart way. Candelila's plots could actually turn out to be quite unique and interesting. She brings happiness to people (even for the sake of reviving her leader), but then the Kyoryugers have to stop her and keep the happiness away from people. I feel like the heroes having to fight to keep "happiness" away from people for the greater good could actually be a pretty good concept. Cause if they take Candelila's happiness that she is giving to people, it might not sit well with some of the people.

Amy is getting focus next week, and it's still the case that she, Daigo and whatshisname (Blue) are being treated as the main team members who make up the main mecha.

Souji really annoyed me this week. I can't stand his arrogance :/ although Ian's flirty act grates a little, I do like him, he doesn't harass women or get angry when they turn him down.

The toei site has cartoon pics of the dino which was mentioned that week, but not shown :)
According to the site,
Ramires' actor can speak Japanese fluently, as he is from Hiroshima and even knows Hiroshima-ben. The speech of Ramires, as part of the character, is on purpose. I suppose it is to make him sound as foreign as possible..

I'd laugh if there's a conversation along the lines of:

Candelila: "So, what'd make you happy?"
Ranger: "What'd make me happy is seeing you dead!"
*cue awesome fight*

Bonus points if it's a 6th or Extra ranger.

He just doesn't do it well. Takenaka Naoko did a fake foreign accent in Nodame Cantabile and it wasn't grating at all.
